By accessing and using NeighborhoodNest ("Platform", "Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please do not use our Platform.

2. Description of Service

NeighborhoodNest is a neighborhood group buying platform that connects residents with local service providers for maintenance and home improvement services. Our Platform facilitates:

• Group service requests within neighborhoods
• Contractor bidding on group services
• Secure payment processing through Stripe
• Communication between users and contractors
• Service coordination and scheduling

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use our Platform, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.2 User Types

• Residents: Individuals seeking home maintenance services
• Service Providers/Contractors: Licensed professionals offering services

3.3 Account Verification

All users must verify their email addresses. Contractors must provide additional verification including business licenses, insurance information, and background checks as required by local regulations.

4. Platform Use

4.1 For Residents

• Create group service requests for your neighborhood
• Participate in existing group services within your ZIP code and 5-mile radius
• Communicate with contractors through our messaging system
• Make secure payments through our integrated payment system
• Leave reviews and ratings for completed services

4.2 For Contractors

• Browse and bid on group service requests
• Communicate with potential clients
• Receive payments for completed services (minus platform fees)
• Manage multiple contracts and schedules
• Build reputation through customer reviews

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Platform Fees

NeighborhoodNest charges a 2% platform fee on all completed transactions. This fee is automatically deducted from payments to contractors.

5.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Users must provide valid payment methods. Contractors must set up Stripe Connect accounts to receive payments.

5.3 Disputes

Payment disputes should be resolved directly between users and contractors. NeighborhoodNest may assist in mediation but is not responsible for resolving service quality disputes.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of local, state, or federal laws
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to bypass our payment system
• Use automated systems to access the Platform
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Spam or send unsolicited communications
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

7. Service Quality and Liability

7.1 Platform Role

NeighborhoodNest is a platform that connects users with contractors. We do not provide services directly and are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by contractors.

7.2 Contractor Responsibility

Contractors are independent service providers responsible for their own licensing, insurance, work quality, and compliance with local regulations.

7.3 Limitation of Liability

NeighborhoodNest's liability is limited to the platform fees collected. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Platform, to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your personal information.

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by NeighborhoodNest and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Use or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms of Use shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will notify users of any changes by posting the new Terms of Use on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
